"No Man, Woman, or Family deserves to be left behind due to politicians coming up short on promises" - Jevarus Howard

A Fresh Look With Experience Serving
Years ago I returned to Greenville, South Carolina for good.  I'd been away, on and off, since the age of seven. During my several moves with family, I spent time learning and developing as a Soldier - deploying to Afghanistan, touring South Korea. I then returned to become a local business owner.

I have several memories growing up in Greenville. I attended Hughes Academy and South Side High School in the area before departing for North Carolina. I stayed active, participating in the Urban League step team, orchestra group, ROTC and Speech & Debate. All of these things, I feel, groomed me to become the man I am today. The Greenville I left as a young man is nothing like the Greenville I returned to, and is certainly nothing like the Greenville we enjoy today.

District 19 has become a premier place to live, work and raise a family. I'm honored to live in a community that has taken such strides in becoming a key destination for thousands. There are people within our communities I am proud to have watched and received mentorship from that have been instrumental to the growth and development here. I plan to continue that same growth.

This State House seat is important to me because these are the leaders our community leans on.  I want to apply my experience and work for our community. I am passionate, dedicated, and determined to see our district and citizens become the best we've ever had an opportunity to be.

Experience

After high school, I joined the US Army. It still remains the best decision I've ever made. I had a will to serve and take care of my family, and that was the route I proudly chose.

I also went on to study and achieve my BS in Marketing, something else I was passionate about, though at the time I had no idea where or when I would follow that passion.  I learned early on throughout my military career what true leadership was and how proper strategies implemented can change the outcome significantly.

I took my studies, applied my experience with strategic management, and I opened my first business in Greenville, South Carolina. I learned the art of networking and the importance of community. I embraced all challenges and took on any opportunities to serve more.  My work in real estate and doing transactions throughout the state has led me to a new appreciation for this great state we love.

I am currently serving on the Board of Directors for Greenville County - GADC - Greenville Area Development Corporation as well as being the 2nd Vice Chair of the Greenville Black Caucus.

Visionary Leadership for All of Greenville County

Why Je'Varus?
  • History of Building Solid Collaborations: Throughout my time in District 19, I've spent many years building solid business relationships with the local business leaders and citizens throughout this district.
  • Understanding True South Carolina Concerns: I am committed to continuing learning concerns of all the citizens within our district. I pride myself as a strong networker. I will immediately be available to connect local problems with solutions from Greenville to the State House.  I understand the hard work required, and I know how to put South Carolina first. My key to success is leadership, relationships, and structure.
  • A fighter:  Some South Carolina communities are having a tough time, especially now.  The good news is that with hard workers, all things are possible. I won't lose sight of what's at stake. I want to incorporate back to business politics. I believe in representation for all of South Carolinians - not just by party, but by residence. It's time to elect leaders who will sit at the table and represent everyone.
